Tea from Fujian Province
All our display art teas, green and white teas come from the high mountains of Fujian Province in China. We've sampled many specialty teas from other regions in China, India,
Ceylon etc but we feel nothing even comes close to matching the finest teas from
Fujian.
There's a number of reasons:
- Fujian teas benefit from an excellent climate, combining mild
temperatures, abundant rainfall and a persistent cloud forest mist. Traditionally the province has been described as eight parts mountain, one part water and one part farmland.
- Fujian has a very long
history (over a thousand years) cultivating tea and boasts many tea masters and artisans.
- The best teas tend to come from small tea gardens and villages in the area surrounding the beautiful Wuyi Mountains.
- These gardens continue to harvest and process the tea using traditional hand made methods which in our opinion makes an incredible difference to the quality of the tea.
