Where do your flowering teas come from?
We source our flowering teas directly from Fujian Province, China where we are fortunate to have several trusted and certified suppliers. All our display teas are hand made by local artisans in several mountain villages in Fujian. The individual teas are selected from the annual spring crop based on the key criteria of taste and presentation. They have to deliver on both. The teas then undergo a rigorous inspection process to ensure they adhere to stringent EU pesticide and safety standards before being airshipped to the UK. They are again sampled in the UK for their freshness and then carefully packaged for our customers. The selection of teas on offer are re-evaluated each year with the new spring Fujian crop. Flowering Teas are also made in other areas in China like Anhui Province but are generally of inferior quality than those from Fujian. |
