Home Wine Tasting Party 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
These are the craze in some countries. My husband attended a home wine tasting party while visiting his brother in Canada. Now he wants to have one. However, he did not pay attention as to which types of wine and appetizers were served and how the games were all put together. Any ideas?

I haven't been into one, but from what I know, they have the vertical wine tasting party and the horizontal wine tasting party.

The former serves several varieties of wine from different years produced by the same manufacturer while the latter serves several varieties of wine introduced within the same year from different manufacturers.

Generally, there are five different types of wine offered. With each wine, pour a sip for your guest. They are then individually to rate the wine, using a scorecard that you can make up yourself. After, everyone discusses why they rated it differently. It is more fun to place the bottle in a non-transparent bag so that no one knows which winery it represents.

You should provide bread or crackers, plus have a pitcher of water, to cleanse the palette between each wine tasting. Provide a fruit and or cheese with each tasting, depending upon the type of wine. Most wine shops have note cards as to which cheese or other appetizers are the most complimentary to the wine.
