Some of my friends, family and colleagues are debating if we should start a monthly tea club. Has anyone ever been a member of this type of club? What are the challenges, rewards, preparation time and such?

At the onset, coming to a consensus of what will be included in each meeting will give direction and consistency for members. Questions to be answered are:
Will you rotate where the meeting is held each month?
Will each member be responsible for hosting at their home?
If so, is he or she to select the monthly topic for discussion?

In many clubs the assigned hostess has the freedom to select the topic. These can range from tea tastings, flower arranging, tea party hat decorating and so much more. This permits a wide range of ideas to surface.

The group should also incorporate visits to nearby tea houses several times a year so that members will not tire of taking turns as hostesses.
