Has anyone ever attended a teacup swap party? I have been invited to one of these parties yet am unsure what actually takes place at the event; therefore, do not know how to prepare for the party.

I haven't been into a teacup swap party either. But my good friend, who participated in one of the teacup swap events online, had a bad experience on swaps. After getting the address of the swap partner assigned to her, she sent a tea set for her partner and expected to receive one for herself within the week. She got her tea set after an entire month of waiting. Worse, one of the cups was broken!

Maybe a teacup swap party will be better since you will be doing the exchanges personally, and can check the items immediately.

I had a very positive experience with the party I attended. You should shop for a unique teacup and saucer.
Place the items in a box and wrap as extravagant as you wish; do not put your name on it.

At the party, the first guest (usually draw names) selects a wrapped teacup off the table display.
The next guest can either take the teacup unwrapped from the first person or select a wrapped gift off the table.
Each guest can take someone else’s unwrapped cup at which point that person gets to select a new gift.
After the game, everyone has tea out of their new cup.

These parties are truly pleasurable when guests prepare for the party by seeking out really unique cups to swap. By doing so, everyone wants each cup as it is revealed. You will enjoy it if you shop at some interesting boutiques first.
