My mother is going to celebrate her 50th birthday, and we're expecting about 50 people to attend, mostly her relatives and close friends. I've already laid out the details for the party.

I know it would be nice to give out thank you cards to those who would attend the party. Do you have any suggestions for the look of the thank you card? I'm looking for a card that is unique, and will remind the guests about my mom.

Create a photo collage from your mom's old and recent photos using any of the online photo editors. The collage should, more or less, represent your mom's life. Then, add a short 'thank you for coming' text.

That's a nice idea, Cary. I'll take it from your suggestion. Jenny can also take photos of the guests during the party, preferably with her mom. Add personalized 'thank-you' messages on the photos before printing, and send them to the party guests a few days after. This may require more time and money, but your guests will truly appreciate the gesture.

Anyway, to answer your question, you can opt for keepsakes or small tokens to express your gratitude to the party guests. These tokens must be something that will remind the guests about your mum or about the fact that she turned 50 already.

For instance, if your mum enjoys gardening, you can give the guests a miniature potted plant with a "thank you!" inscription on the pot. If she likes coffee, give the guests a custom printed coffee mugs. You can print your mum's picture or a thank you message on the mug.

Wow, I think the photos (I'm still torn between the collage or the photos taken during the party) will be great thank you cards! I am so grateful to this forum; the ideas I get here are very nice.

Anyway, I think I'll still have to visit some photo studios to ask about the costs. But I am already so excited with the idea.

last year i went to a 50th wedding anniversary in a very pretty restaurant . Happily some one thought to take snaps of all the guests then made a diorama adding the appropriate music for the occasion plus a few old photos of the couples lovely house, their wedding, when they first met, etc.
This made a nice souvenir at very little cost for both the invited and the invitees.
