Need Advice for a Shy Co-Hostess 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago

My very dear friend insists on helping me with a cocktail party that I am having in the backyard of my home. I could use her help since I expect around 40 guests. However, she is so quiet and shy around most people. What kind of tips, advice and assignments can I give her to help her be a better hostess and bring her out of her shell? I do not want to hurt her feelings.

If you are going to have a bartender, she could assist him or her plus venture around the area picking up empty glasses. With that many guests, you will probably run out of glasses so will need someone to wash them - unless you are using disposable ones.

I would be honest with her in a nice way since she is your friend. Comment that she can be shy in front of people and ask her what she had in mind for helping you. It may be something you have not thought about. Or perhaps the two of you could come up with an activity to help improve her communication skills.
