I realize that flowers and scented candles are traditional centerpieces. However, I am looking for some more unique, non fragrant-type centerpieces. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Use ivy and grapes, either artificial or authentic plants and fruit. The ivy can be intertwined at the center of the table with the remaining lengths extending toward the serving dishes. The grapes can be stacked on a cake stand, allowing them to drape over the stand for a more dramatic effect.

I would use one of the teapots and stands that appear on this site. My wife and I have used it several times as a centerpiece. We also purchased the different colour flaming tea lights. We have received quite a few compliments on how unique it is compared to a simple vase of flowers.

Use a large borosilicate glass bowl. Place smooth variegated rocks in the bottom of the bowl. Then, insert a tall bamboo live plant in the center using the stones to keep the plant upright. It is simple yet elegant.

Assorted uncut fruit is an option. Use varying shapes, colors and sizes or just one type. These can be placed in a compote stand in the center of the table then accented with a much smaller fruit type placed on each dinner plate or between the teacup and water glass.
