I would like to have a going away party for my mother and father who will be touring the US for one month. They have not been before. Any suggestions on decorations, games, dinner menu…?

That's a really nice one, Alex. Since Lucy's parents will be touring the US, why not celebrate it in anticipation of their US adventure? You'll be needing some burgers and red, white and blue Jello Pie, Lucy. Have fun!

Being that I spent my teenage years in the US, I would focus on the country’s love for sports. Since baseball is in season now, ask everyone to wear red, white and blue and provide your guests with a US baseball professional team cap to wear at the party. The popular foods at the games are: hot dogs, popcorn, cracker jacks and beer. If they are touring the US, your parents should not miss the opportunity to attend one of these games.

not only slang but there are many words one must be careful to use correctly. There again there exists a dictionary which they could eventually pack into their case
