The Exotic Teapot

My close group of friends and I all have teen age daughters. I thought it would be nice to have a dinner at my home for all of us females. Now that I have a theme, I am unsure how to make it work, especially with teenagers. Does anyone have any ideas to assist me?

That's a great idea - spending quality time with your daughters.

I would suggest having several games with mom-and-daughter teams competing against one another. This will surely enhance your rapport with your teenage daughters, and it will be lots of fun, too.

Why not make it a formal affair, including dress code, elegant menu and decorations? You could display the glass teapot with stand and serve the flowering tea as part of the occasion.

I like your concept. Here are my ideas:

While at the party assign the teenagers, as a group, to come up with three or four fun games that all of you can participate in. You could encourage your daughter to be the hostess of the discussion.

Since teens can be picky eaters, ask each mum in advance what they will eat; hence preparing your menu based on the answers.

Only require that each mother-daughter come in costume as one theme. This gives them each the freedom to express their family individuality and preferences.
