The Exotic Teapot

How wonderful! My mom, sis and I planned my whole fairy theme wedding for 100 guests. Unless your fairy has magical powers to produce a pot of gold, I would first start with a budget. I spent the most on pink roses, babys’ breath, lilac, lilies, candelabras and sheer white lace so to convert the chapel and reception parlor to a fairy land. The dress should be Victorian style with a fitted bodice, lace neck collar and full length sleeves; closed with buttons from the wrist to the elbow. The groom should wear a formal tuxedo with top hat and cane. As guests are ushered to their seats, the organist should be playing etudes and symphony pieces by Chopin, Mozart and Beethoven. The bride’s cakes should be piped with pink icing and the top tier adorned with live pink rose buds. My fiancé built a small white wooden bridge from Popsicle sticks to connect the bride and groom cakes. We placed the typical bride and groom topper in the middle of the bridge. Champagne should generously flow from the fountains to accommodate guests at the reception.

If your friends have the money to hire a professional, it would be better to leave the work in the hands of those who have experience in planning big events like weddings. They can still add their own personal touch by constantly informing the planners their ideas and suggestions. The planners would be very happy to incorporate them.
Hiring a planner will free the couple from the small details. This would give your friends the time to do the more important tasks like preparing for the marriage, and not just the wedding.

Have you considered the attire of your guests? If you will require the guests to dress according to the fairy theme, don't you think it will be too costly for them? If you will not require it, don't you think the absence of appropriate wardrobe will compromise the theme?

My point here is that a fairy theme wedding is not practical at all.

I think Alex has a very good point. If the entourage and the guests will not wear fairy costumes, there will be no point spending on decorating the venue like fairyland. You should check with close friends and family members if they are as excited with the theme as the bride is.
