The Exotic Teapot

My best friend is getting married, and she wants a fairy theme wedding. She has asked me to help in the preparations, as they plan not to hire a professional planner to organize the event. The wedding is still 9 months from now, so we have plenty of time. But, how do we start this? Do you think we can pull this off? Or should I just suggest that they get a professional wedding organizer instead?

Well, before you start one question that you will have to keep in mind is do you have the time, resources and people to pull this kind of a wedding off? I feel you should begin only after you make a complete evaluation of this question.

It's a lovely theme. However I'm curious: is the husband to be, happy about this theme???

I don't have problems with time. With the resources and the people, I still don't have a good idea, as I'm also not sure about the things to do, how to start this and how big the task is. Could someone (who has probably organized a wedding before) give me a better picture?

The bride can actually plan her entire wedding with the help of a few friends, as long as she's not thinking of inviting more than 100 guests. If her guest list has more than that, it is best to get a professional. They come in teams (so they can better handle big groups) and they are more familiar with what to do in case anything unexpected happens.

My husband and I prepared everything for our wedding. But since we cannot be running around during the event itself, we met a few days before the wedding with 5 of our closest friends, and we discussed with them the flow of the event and how they could help us.

I was actually nervous that some plans may not be carried out well, but everything actually worked fine! I have no regrets with planning our own wedding. It was exactly what I have imagined it to be (with some extras).
