Oriental Express Dinner Party 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I enjoy Chinese food, and with the recent Olympics in Beijing, I am considering having an oriental dinner party. If you have held or attended this theme related dinner party, I would certainly welcome decorating, menu and costume hints.

For food, I suggest ravioli noodle soup, fried vegetable rolls and moon cakes. Don't forget to hang a lot of red on your walls to achieve an overall Chinese look for your party venue.

I personally find the term 'oriental' very confusing. Is it not used to describe Middle East in ancient times? Today, I think it is used to describe the cultures of Japan, China, India, Korea and neighboring countries. So, if you're thinking of having an Oriental party, I guess you should be able to cover most of Southeast Asia.

don't forget those lovely raw vegetables cut into fantastic shapes and all the flower arrangements.
In fact I think perhaps you're being a bit ambitious the finesse of south east asian decorations must take hours and hours of preparation

Because the Oriental Express travels to so many places, ask your guests to select one city where the train stops then dress according to that culture. You could dress up as the train conductor.
