While working in the U.S. my brother got married. He is now transferring back to London and bringing his new American bride, whom has never lived outside of the U.S. I’d like to give them a dinner party to introduce her to our family and friends. Please share any ideas, activities, decorations and such that I could use as a “Welcome to London” theme for the dinner.

As a start, you can give her a tea party the classical way. Use your best tea sets and offer her your best tea. The Americans drink tea, but not like how we do.

You could make a large map of London (or have one copied) for display as decoration. While serving dinner ask her what type of activities she enjoys. During dinner each guests could provide input as to the locations and specific names of the events she is interested in that they indeed have personal experiences with. Afterwards, everyone could mark these suggestions on the large map for her to take home.
