I noticed that my tea tin is rusting. Any suggestions of particular tea tin features that I should seek out when shopping for a replacement?

My tea tin is made of aluminum and is air-tight to keep my tea always fresh.
However, rusting may also be due to storage conditions. Rust easily forms in the presence of air and water, so always remember to keep it away from these (and from heat, as well) at all times.

I would not purchase a tin that has a hinged top. I don’t believe the seal is as air tight.

I prefer the shorter and wider tins (like the ones on this site) versus the taller, slimmer ones. I have found them more convenient to use.

I would be cautious of brass tins unless the inside has an inner lining for safe food storage.
