TOPIC: chai or tea

chai or tea 3 Months ago
I am a bit confused here. I always thought that chai and tea are just the same thing. But I recently read from a magazine that chai is loaded with sweeteners, so it's best to stick with tea. Can anyone shed light on this, please?

From what I know, tea and chai both mean tea. However, since there are two ways to pronounce the Chinese character for tea - te and cha, the world has known two ways of calling tea.

I'm not sure about the magazine you read, but I never thought of chai being different from tea.

Chai is a black tea brewed strongly with spices. Then milk and sweeteners are added to taste. It has become popular in the West but been a favorite in India for centuries.
