Low and High Tea 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Pardon my ignorance, but may I ask what's the basic difference between a low tea and a high tea? Thanks!

I believe the interpretation depends on which country you reside: UK or US. Yet, since the British were long here before the US, high tea is served with a full meal early in the evening around 5:00 or 6:00 p.m. Low tea is served in the late afternoon along with finger foods and is not considered a meal.

I have heard that the terms derived from where the tea was served. Low tea is served on a table associated with short legs, similar to a setting of a parlor that has comfortable chairs and settees for socializing. Conversely, high tea is served on a taller table used in kitchens for quick, consumption of meals to resolve hunger.
