Trade Partners FAQ

How do I open a trade account?

Firstly, we suggest you look through our website to see if our brand and products would make sense for your establishment. Our Trade Partners page will explain the benefits of opening a trade account with us and provide you with a short application form to complete. Once we receive your application, we'll contact you with more information about setting up an online business account. This will give you full access to our trade discount prices. We can also send you a catalogue with more information about our trade products and services.

Does my business qualify?

Our trade partners are generally based in the UK or European countries we currently ship to. We work closely with our trade partners on a personalised level so tend to mostly work with established food service businesses (tea/coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, spas...) who we feel will really benefit from our products and services. If you have plans to set up a new business relating to tea, teaware or gifts, we're always happy to discuss your needs and see if we can add value to your plans. We are currently unable to accept online retailers, dropshippers or busineses that would wish to resell our products through online marketplaces e.g.,

Do you have a catalogue?

Our Catalogue is available to all our trade customers. We try to keep it updated as much as possible but if you notice any discrepancies, our latest prices are always the ones shown on our website. Please note that all prices shown in the catalogue are exclusive of VAT. All prices on the website already include VAT where applicable.

Do you have a minimum quantity or order value?

No minimums. You can better manage your cashflow by ordering as many or as little of any product you require. Please see our Trade Partners page for more details.

How do I log in and place an order?

Once your trade account is set up, you can access our website using the log in link at the top right of the screen. Click on the dropdown menu under your name to access all your previous orders, address and customer profile settings.

On each individual product listing, the prices you now see are all trade prices (inclusive of VAT where applicable). To view the actual retail prices again, you'll need to log out or use another browser. You'll also have a variety of additional options in terms of packaging, sizes and trade related formats to choose from.

If you're interested in our popular gifts sets, you can even 'create your own' tea sets and still benefit from our trade prices. Most of our items are available in catering formats but also in retail ready tins and boxes.

Once you've added your items to the cart, you can then check out easily and pay for your order by credit card, Paypal or bank transfer.

We prefer trade orders to be placed online through our website. For registered trade partners, we can also accept card payments over the phone if this is easier for you.

What are your delivery options?

All our products are delivered to Mainland UK using DPD Local Next Working Day or weekend service. The service is fully trackable and you'll receive text and email notification when your order ships. All orders placed before 12pm generally ship the same day but may require longer processing for larger order quantities. We offer Free Next Working Day Delivery (UK Mainland) on all Trade orders over £150 (<30kgs). Otherwise, carriage is charged based on consignment weight. Weekend delivery is £10.

For Scottish Highlands, islands and Northern Ireland, we provide an DPD 2 Day service for a fixed cost of £12.95.

European deliveries up to 30kg are handled by DPD on a 2-5 Day working day service depending on the country. Guide rates are as follows:

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept most major credit/debit cards, Paypal or a payment by bank transfer when you checkout. A VAT receipt will be included with your trade order.

Do you dropship your products?

No. Our systems are not set up to handle dropshipping at this time.

Can I come meet you?

Of course. We're always happy to meet up with our trade partners and sample some of our products together if ever you find yourself in the area. Our offices can be found in Southbourne, Bournemouth just a few minutes from the beach. Simply call us to make an appointment. Please note we do not have a retail shop at the current time.

Do you sell your products through supermarkets?

No. Our products can occasionally be found for sale on the high street but only in independant stockists e.g., tea & coffee shops, spas and luxury gift shops. We prefer to partner with small, dynamic service businesses where our brand and products can add real value instead of the mainstream retail chains and supermarkets.

What is your ethical policy?

As a company, we take our ethical and environmental responsibilities very seriously. We choose our tea and teaware partners carefully and in most cases have worked closely with them for many years.

We have established a 'code of ethics' policy that all our suppliers worldwide must sign and adhere to. This is closely monitored and covers a wide range of ethical topics such as human rights, health & safety, labour, living & working conditions, fair pricing and environmental sustainability. A copy of our full policy is available on demand.

Do your teas have organic certification?

No. We mostly source our handmade teas from small, reputable tea farms in China that do not have the resources or volumes to meet International certification requirements. Being "certified" organic is a complicated process as there are a multitude of different certification agencies worldwide. Each agency has varying standards so some certifications would be accepted in one country, but not in others. It can also become costly for a small company and the end consumer.

We rely on the experience and knowledge of our local tea experts to source the finest quality teas based on their taste and aesthetic profile. All tea and flower ingredients that we import need to meet strict European standards for pesticides and heavy metals. We tend to order our tea in large volume, early in the season so we're guaranteed the pick of the new Spring crop. Samples of each batch are then tested by an independent laboratory to ensure they meet the required quality standards.

European Orders?

If your business is located outside the UK and benefits from a European VAT number, we will automatically remove any UK VAT on product and delivery charges. Please be sure to enter your VAT number into your customer profile for this to be taken into account.
